Dear ECRTS community,
Gerhard Fohler, recipient of the ECRTS 2021 Outstanding Achievement Award for “two decades of leadership and services to the conference and the real-time community in general”, has created a new blog called “1 is the only acceptable acceptance ratio”. As Gerhard writes, he chose this polemic title “to signify that we should challenge our long held believes for the benefit of our community.”
The current technical steering committee would like to thank Gerhard for sharing his valuable insights with us. We completely agree with his blog post that a conference acceptance ratio should not serve as a singular quality measure, and we are proud to not have imposed any constraints on the maximum number of papers that our TPCs are allowed to select. We welcome any correct submission that is of interest to our community and that meets the evaluation criteria. In fact, as stated in our Call for Papers, “those breaking new ground, departing from established subfields, or challenging the status quo are most welcome and highly encouraged.”
We encourage you to subscribe directly to “1 is the only acceptable acceptance ratio”, so you don’t miss a particularly polemic post that sparks you to make our research community better!
In your service, the ECRTS technical steering committee: Yasmina, Steve, Sebastian, Marcus
